2011 Australian Bandai Model Kit World Cup (formerly known as BAKUC)

Australian 2011 BAKUC has been official announcement, This year’s event will be held once again at SMASH!  (Sydney Manga and Anime Show) at Darling Harbour Sydney July 16 2011

Main Category

This category is designed for modelers who want to push their skills to the limit by remodeling “Modding” Gundams as well as creating dioramas.
Open Category: Modelers over 15 years of age (Born on or after 01/07/1996)
Junior Category :
Modelers under 14 years of age (Born before 01/07/1996)
  • Open to any type of kit remodeling as well as scratch building of additional parts to incorporate into the original Bandai kit.
  • Entries can be entered as part of a diorama. Base dimensions of the diorama can be no larger than 50x50x50cm.
  • Use of commercial full resin or resin conversion kits is not permitted.
  • Models must be made from original Bandai kits.
  • All grades and scales allowed.
Judgment criteria:
  • Painting: 0/100 Line Paint Body decoration
  • Modification: 0/100 Other parts usage (except original parts) remodeling
  • Creativity: 0/100 Originality (Posing, Coloring, Concept, World) diorama
1st Prize:
  • Return Trip to Hong Kong representing Australia at the 2011 Bandai World Cup Finals. 2 nights 3 days.

2nd Prize:

Secondary Categories

This category is designed for modelers who are still yet to venture into the complexities of remodeling “Modding” Gundams as well as diorama construction. Points are awarded for unique paint schemes as well as panel line work and build quality. Points are also awarded for dynamic and creative posing.

Best 1/100 No Grade / Master Grade :
  • Models must be built out of the box; no modification or scratch building is allowed. Different paint and/or decal designs are encouraged as bonus points will be awarded for individuality.
  • Models mounted on a display stand is highly recommended.
  • Kits must be made from original Bandai kits.
  • Only Bandai Gundam decals are allowed.
Judgement criteria:
  • Painting: 0/100 Line Paint Body decoration
  • Creativity: 0/100 Posing, Individuality

Other information
  1. Online submission of entries are not yet open.
  2. Participants may submit more than one entry when entering Open class. For all other categories, only 1 entry per participant is allowed.
  3. All participants must bring their own models to Sydney on the 15th of July for set up. Prize presentation will be held at SMASH! the following day. All prize winners are required to be present during the prize presentation ceremony.
  4. Open discussion for this event will be open at the SMASH! forums or Hobbyco’s Facebook fan page. Please post any questions there and they will be answered in good time.
  5. Prizes for the junior category includes fares and accommodation for 1 supervising adult.
  6. Strict inspection on all models will be carried out; any entries found to be using counterfeit kits will be disqualified.
  7. Event organizers shall endeavor to take care of all submitted entries. However, they shall not be held liable for any loss or damages should they occur.
  8. Judges’ decision is final; no further correspondence will be entertained.
  9. Prizes won cannot be exchanged for cash or any other form.
  10. These rules may be subject to change without notice.
It's will be my first time entering this year, I need to start working on it, only 4 months to go!!! planning entering two kits.
